Ahhhh I see your in the same boat as me except your a current driver. that rte 44 goin over towards the 7 I always seem like I get a statie following me...through that long 45mph stretch where you should be doin 60!.....anyway So....I look at it as this for now.....any local driver job is going to have control over your entire life.....4 am pick up 2 30 am wake up.......means 7 pm bed time!!!.....kinda a complete life dominating job.....so I am looking at it as OTR is going to be just fine though im not married it will be easier to live in the truck a few weeks....3-5 then have a few "real free days"......if that makes any sense!.....I have the cdl but never used it so im in a refresher course right now.....I figure Melton sounds solid im on here and their site daily tryin to pick up what I can about policy, pay, and all that I am 50 yrs old!!....im in great shape so im not worried about tarping and all that......im just wondering if I do the orientation& training will I get in a truck and live in NYC!!!!...that might not be a good idea for me off the bat but I figure they know what they are doing....I live in Litchfield county....opposite you.....but I have been a service tech for 26 yrs!!!!! drivin all N.E. and NY NJ but just in a service van 4 wheel......Danielson is nice the old 395!! ive done a lot of work in Putnam but dnlsn kinda quiet.....anyway....keep in touch I would like to know what you find bein a ct guy n all.....im lookin to get a take home of right around the G if one week is 1250 next is 925 ill be ok but I do have a budget....melton sounds like a thousand a week is very doable and typical...anyway drive safe!!!!

Nice....I typically live on 6 hrs sleep as long as its decent sleep. what time do you get out usually, looks like about 4pm so you do this 5 days? 4a m 4 pm?....for the 1700 or 6 days? that's very good money for sure...Im not familiar with your truck line, but sounds like a good job!

.I was in a trade for 26 yrs my last 3 yrs are all on adp [online payroll stubs] I avg about that.....weekly as well...difference being I needed to do the job for many yrs...my last 6 month job was 40 an hour but a sham I shouldda stayed where I was....I am a 27 28 an hr guy.... I jumped for a story and now I don't think I can get back in my trade at least for a long undetermined time. So I had good benefits 2 weeks off 10 holidays, and left the house around 7 30 am got home around avg 5 pm sometimes 8 or 9pm but rarely...

. That's why im looking to drive melton!!! they look like if you hustle you can bring home the 1000 a week......course id want to do more once I know the system.....but don't want to make 300 a week for too long!!...orientation and training don't count to me....so my first check solo id really need to take that home 1000 why not!!! im on the road livin in a box for 21 day at a clip I don't think its a high paying job but sounds fair!......

.are you in touch with them....Melton?.....you've obviously been driving for a while!!!! from what I see no one wants anyone local unless they do otr for at least 6-12 months.........are you seriously considering going back otr?....I bet its a trip!!!

I never went OTR. But i can choose my pickup times on lime loads. I chose 4am today and tomorrow i chose 6am. I got home at 230 today. Tomorrow will be around 4. But if im hauling sludge i leave about 530am and can get back around 3-6. It all varies. They give you loads and you do them but if you cant make them all or wanna go home early you can but it does hurt you after awhile
