New CDL holder looking at Melton

when i drove for melton, if i remember correctly about the mexico load..if you go to el paso..they change out the tarp and another company takes it in mexico..if you go to laredo then you take the load to a forwarding company and they take into mexico. that was last year...

 

I'm headed to Tulsa for Melton orientation in a week with my shiny new CDL & have talked to my recruiter, Tami, and one of their drivers ,Tarren, several times.
They do run Canada, bonus 6 cents a mile from point of pick-up to destination, I didn't ask about MX.
Obviously you need a passport to run CA, you can get the card for $40, you don't need the book.
They said they do run haz-mat, and any container they haul that holds more than 300Gals you need a Tanker endorsement for. They'll help you get your TWIC card, that's $180 I believe. Trainings in Tulsa, 8 day orientation for tapping & load securement "the Melton way", hotel & lunches paid for & $500 for the week, then 3 weeks out with a trainer/driver $490/wk.

 

and untarp...strap...retarp and drive to your locale..all for 40 bucks...

 

So what company are you now working for that pays +$50/hr for tarping, do they take rooks & who do I req. for my DM?

Don't go into Mexico. Only Canada. Love Canada runs. More $$
