| do they help you buy a truck or are you just on your own and what about trailers and how do they pay and are they keeping you yall busy. thanks |

| You have to bring your own truck. If you need help with a trailer I believe they may assist with that, they did with mine! The pay is percentage of load... Loads pay differently depending on shipper, load, & area of the country. They also pay within 24 hours of recieving paperwork via tripak. If I drop 3 loads a week, I will be paid 3 times that week. Fletbed freight is slow right now... Any active flatebedder will verify that. Also certain parts of the country are better for freight then others. Me personally am doing OK. I don't sit except for 34 hour restarts... Mercer is not a normal "company"! They don't dispatch you nor force you to do anything. The contractor/driver is in charge of his own paycheck... You can be picky on what areas you want to run... and choose not to go to certain areas. If I want to I can unload tomorrow here in NY, refuse every load they offer me, and deadhead to CA to reload! To me that isn't a smart economical decision.... But some drivers do it! |
