When did you graduate Napier Buckeye? One thing I do know is that I would prefer a smaller class size then what Napier tends to have which is a plus going with Millis Transfer. Still undecided whether or not to do the trucking thing....I really would like to give it a go but still going over the pros and cons. If I have any Napier questions I will definitely shoot them your way. Thanks

Thanks Baritone for your input. Just seems to make sense I guess to try and plan it so your trainer time is in the winter so one can get snow driving experience along with learning to put the chains on if needed, BUT like you said, if the weather is bad and your not moving, your not making the green.

I graduated Aug 15. I choose them so I could have control over who I worked for. If that had not worked I would have gone with Millis.

After looking into Millis quite a bit over the Past couple of months, I found that they were the company that I wanted to go with. The problem I had, which I found out the hard way today, is that someone either has to go through their school, or have a year's OTR experience. In my case, I am currently in school to get my CDL, with a Graduation date of November. Unfortunately for me, that forces me to go with a company that will hire me with the Schooling that I have. Unless any one on here knows of a Loophole that Millis might have?? Upon completion of schooling, I might need a few days in the Classroom, and then Finishing Training OTR.

If it were me, and I had the money for the upfront cost, I would leave the school and go straight to Millis. Depends on how much you want them to be your starter company. If your paying for it out of pocket anyway, it would probably be cheaper going through them instead and you should be solo well before november instead of just graduating and having to apply. IMO -
The problem is is that I took out loans to go to School, so regardless of anything I decide, I still need to payback those loans. My wife mentioned that I should just go through Millis' School regardless of my current Schooling. I explained that I would then owe for 2 Schoolings.

Don't quit the school you are in...there are other company's out there that you can go to that will treat you ok...don't make your situation worse, get your license, do your year where ever you go and the doors will open up.
