REf Pay

I ran almost 125 000 My pay is set with pratical route. There are several diffrent ways of selecting your pay choice. (see web site) On every pay check your pay average wil change a little. One of the biggest way is the idle bonus. Sumertime its hot and I dont like sweating to death but come winter the bonus are more $$$. THey just want you mainly to stay under 40% unlike SWifts 15% . My last pay voucher stated.45 we still have a couple weeks befor our year end bonus will be paid wich will bump average up. LIke I said the bonus are easy to get unlike other companies its sort of hard to describe the dirrent pay options that they offer. I'm not good with others so I dont make the big money of being a trainer.

BAd points
No pets
NO APU
Cant pass Swift or Werner any more due to 66 MPH trucks

Good points
Alot of droop and hooks
Nice trucks/ NIce trailers Shops do a decent job
They dont route the trucks. they let you plan your own fuel stops and route Any TA or Pilot. PRE PASS PLUS on all trucks no extra charge
3 weeks vacation your 1st year

Isn't that three weeks vacation the 1st year only if you take the per diem pay?

Check Millis' website under driver benefits. That 1 week vacation after 6 months and 2 weeks after 1 year only applies if you are under the Per Diem pay schedule. If you elect non-per diem pay then you get 1 week vacation after 1 year. It's right there in black and white.

You are correct

They way Millis has it set up its more $ in your pocket to go per diem for the first 2 years to rec the vacation and holiday pay.(Millis and other companies dont pay as much in benfits) After the 2 year mark the people I talk with say its better to switch to strait pay. Note the only time you can change is when you first start and every Jan. So read the web site or check your employe handbook it is explained more in detail.
Like I said befor Im sure there are better companies that make more money but with freight as slow as it is Millis trucks are still moving.

How far in advance do they schedule for classes? I can't start training until June, but would love to go to Millis.

Not sure of school dates

Give them a call. Living in the Ritchfield area you will enjoy Millis alot. Living where you do you will get by the house alot. Alot of our main shippers and rec are just north of where you live. We also haul alot of glass to the brewery. Give them a call and good luck
