I just submitted an application for them and I got the confirmation email saying it usually takes 1-2 days to process it. I'm wondering if my application has a shot at being approved. I'm 21 years old and I already have my CDL. I went to trucking school from April to June last year. Thing is though, I haven't driven a truck since my last day of driving school, which was 6/13/2013. So that's over 8 months. For a portion of that 8 months I was under 21, I also tried getting local driving jobs and what not but that didn't happen. I attended one orientation for a company but I failed the road test as I bumped a curb making a right at a stop sign, that was in October. Since then I've been trying to get a local job ( not just driving ) but have come up short. So I decided to look at the larger companies and saw Millis. I've been unemployed for a year now so I'm not sure if that will affect my chances?

what is your location? im a wannabe myself, but i will help all that i can. get the job with a company fast. once you are away from school too long, you will have to take a refresher course and that is expensive $1000 to $3000 or even more depending on where you go. find chinatown on here and he can help you a lot. he knows a lot about these companies. im gonna talk to millis also to see what they say.

I think its like if you haven't drove for 6 months some companies require a refreshers course.

yea , i had to take a refresher but i graduated back in 2010 and wasnt sure exactly how long it was before you had to get one. some companies do their own refresher courses and will hire you that way.

Actually I just saw where they require $500 up front for their school if you're approved. I'm pretty sure I can't afford that unfortunately, I'm stretched to the max right now financially, as you could imagine after not working for a year.

AYea i found out about the $500 fee too. I can't afford that either . They must only need rich people. What working man has that kind of cash to just hand over after paying bills? Just another money racket. Western express will hire you i you are that desperate. Be sure that is your only optionthough. They are a bad company but if you cAn stand it they are a place to start i guess. T
