Monday my group starts backing with Jamie I believe. I know it's not easy, but I'm not nearly as nervous about it as I was the first and second time on the road.
I got to meet my trainer last week as well. His name is Eddie from Chattanooga area. Looks like 60-something year old guy with over 6 million miles behind him apparently. 20+ years with Millis too and Greg has nothing but good things to say about him...so I'm pretty excited. One thing I don't like as much is that he doesn't let you listen to the music at all...but I'll deal with it for a few weeks. I'm pretty sure we don't have the same taste in it anyways

I know what you mean. One of the drivers came in the other day. With his T680 and let us push on his clutch...big difference from that T2000 we are training on.
My trainer has the freightliner. Any feedback on those anybody?

Actually no. They sent one guy home on tuesday i believe. Couldnt park after week and a half. They gave him extra time too.
That's one thing guys, don't quit your jobs right away when you are starting your training here, if you can. About 10% -20% of students will not learn how to handle a 72ft truck on the road and how to back it up in a few days. And that's literally all the time they have to teach you. They call it a crash course for a reason.some people just need more time, and some are just not born for it i guess. Don't mean to scare anybody...but it is a fast pace class and they simply don't have any extra time to spend it on you.
I did make it through the parking. Friday we got our uniforms and booklets. Monday is a drug test and orientation ends on wednesday. Then waiting on my trainer to call me...and i should be on the road.....pretty excited.
