Cartersville, GA June 9th

So I just put my deposit down for class on the 9th of June in Cartersville, GA. Looks like I'm Millis bound

A little about me since I will be updating this while I go along as often as possible.

I have been in the Air Force for 19 Years (dern that is along time). I remember as a little kid one time at a rest area talking to a trucker and saying I wanna be a trucker when I grow up. His response was don't. Well even back then if you told me not to do something I at least want to try it to see why not. So here it goes

Some of you might ask why not use your GI bill to pay for a community college. Well the short answer is I gave my GI Bill to my kids so they can at least have one year of school paid for when the graduate high school. In previous threads I have talked about having uncle sam pay for my Class at the community college. Well that didn’t work out so well. I would have to figure a way for the military to let me off work every day at noon for 10 weeks while still active duty. I talked to my commander about it and he said wish I could help you but I can’t justify that. So here I am going to Millis.

Now don’t get me wrong I am actually happy about going with Millis. It was a toss up between Millis and Roehl. I chose Millis for two reasons and two reasons only. (Everything else I read about the two was almost identical). The class is in Cartersville, GA and I live in Montgomery, AL. So on the weekends I can head home to spend some family time with my Fiancé before I go over the road. The second reason is cause I am military and the payback is not as much.

Do I like the idea of a camera in the cab not really but you know what I will be working for a company and it is there rules so I live with it.

I know a few of the pros and cons of the per diem thing. However if some of you that actually work for Millis could give me an idea if per diem is worth it or not. Also what would you suggest HHG or Practical?
