July 14th Burleson Class - Journal

I took the Pre-trip test. I figured, why wait. In Texas it was a computerized 30 question test. Passed it with no problem.

As far as I know, there is nothing else I can do before attending school.

When I finished the test the DMV woman said she couldn't enter the results, because on a prior visit somone made an error on my records. My records indicated that I was ready for my Drive Test. Even though I would still have needed my pre-trip test. Gotta love the DMV. So, now, I'll be worried that at some point I will have to retake all my tests and endorsments. I don't trust that it will all show up in the system.

 

I e-mailed my recruiter a few times with some questions, but I never recieve a reply.

I don't want to make an issue of it. But on the other hand, as time closes in, it would give me some peace of mind, to have some questions answered.

Should I expect any more information or assistance before I attend school? Other than the address and date of the school, I haven't been given an idea of what to expect. It would also make me feel better to have some contact, so I know I haven't been thrown out for some reason.

 

I still have not recieved my plastic CDL Permit in the mail. It has been over 20 days. I'm getting worried because my paper one expires the day before I attend MTI. The people at the DMV just tell me to wait longer. But they also say, it should only have taken 2 weeks.

 

I'm having troubles getting my CDL Permit. It's been a month since I applied and passed the tests. Their computer says they sent one out to me (The plastic hardcopy). But it was lost in the mail.

I went up there yesterday and explained I'm leaving to school soon and I really need it. She said she can't re-issue another one because I've already been scheduled to do my drive test. Drive Test! The last time I was up there I was asked if I wanted to schedule a drive test and I said NO. I explained I'll be attending a driving school and take it after. Well, She scheduled me for a drive test anyway, that I didn't know about.

Now it gets confusing. I'm not sure I can explain it, because I don't really understand it. The nice lady told me that because I have taken all my endorsement tests and was already signed up for a drive test, they can not give me a new copy of my permit because it would extend my date too far. Soooooo, their solution is this...

She had to put in their system that I failed every single test I took 3 times. (Even though I aced almost all of them). She said THEN I can reapply for a permit a second time. With little choice I went ahead and did it. I hate that it's in the system that I failed every test 3 times, because it makes me look like a moron. She said nobody, even Millis, would ever see those results. Well, okay, but I still don't like it.

So now I'm awaiting another permit in the mail, and hopefully this time it doesn't get lost.

...and I'm left to wonder if when I go to Millis and finally do my testing, how all this will look In the 'system' when they pull my name up. Who knows, how fudged up it will be. And I will probably have to re-take all my endorsement tests, because I doubt they will show up.

I've heard jokes about the DMV my whole life. Okay, I get them now.

BUT I'm still positive and can't wait to get this show on the road.

 

Im not too concerned about it. Im not losing sleep. But until school starts i have a serious lack of things to report. Are there any other students sceduled for july 4th burleson. I hope its a small class, but i dont necessarily want to be the only one.
