Does Millis allow any hometime when out with the trainer for 4-7 weeks? And I've heard they ask you to pick your pay? What's the best option?

Hometime with your trainer is dependent on if your trainer goes home, how close you live to him/ a terminal and/or special circumstances such as emergancy. I would say be prepared to not mske it home inthat time but there is always a chance. As far as pay goes they go over it all in school, and there are several post about it in this forum.

I dont know about home time while your in training. Myself I would want to get the training knocked out and into my own truck, Get a couple paydays under the belt before I head back home. Im also not sure if they have trainers coming to pick you up right after school or if Millis sends you home and you wait for a trainer to become available. Someone in an other thread said they where still waiting at home to get hooked up with their trainer.

here is a little more on pay.

also I cant find the chart but I see on the site they are starting regional drivers in Texas @ .50 cpm. Even my recruiter mentioned it.

Im leaning toward Non Per Diem Practical miles right now, but it might change once I get to class and learn more.

Dependent on your trainer. My guys are normally out the entire time. If we get in the area then I try to get then a night by the house.

Seems you work for Millis.....can you tell me, with any degree of certainty, does Millis hire recent CDL school grads...or only those THEY teach?

    Thanks! :biggrin_255:

You have to have 1 year OTR OR go thru Millis's MTI school to be hired.
