All the trucks have fridges with a small freezer section. The new T680's have inverters, the 700's do not. I think the inverters in the 680's are 2000 watts. Trucks are all pre wired for CB's and already have antenna. No APU's, unfortunately. New drivers' trucks are (unless they forget) turned down to 62 mph for a year, then turned up to 66. Am/FM/CD in all trucks with aux plug for satellite radio or mp3. Bunk heater to help keep idle times down in winter. That's about all I can think of, right now. Hope that helps.

    simpleman78 and ArnettINK Thank this.

Also, they have a basic GPS integrated Into the Qualcomm, not the greatest but will suffice.

    Harleys4life,

Thank you very much for the info, the recruiter did her best in answering all my questions. She did say that the company does sell inverters and the mechanics would be happy to install them. Again thanks for the info, this will go a long way when trying to plan for what I can and can't carry in the truck as far as food goes. Now a days I am restricted to what I can eat and it's best if I can bring it with me and cook it on my own. If you think of anything else that would be helpful please don't hesitate to send it to me or anyone else for that matter.

You know what I did think of another question of coarse after I hit the post button, I did some reading on this "Per Diem" some say it's not really worth it, better to take the high pay and skip the it all together, any opinions on this? Could use some 2 cent entries here. :biggrin_25519: Again thanks in advance.

RotorZilla, it's was my experience that most of the routes available on there are usually what you would take to begin with, they have been updated over time by other drivers as things change. But doing a route plan and comparing them is good practice, you may one day plot a route that the company may ask you for because it may be the first time out there. Just my 2 cents worth of experience.

I wonder why no on the APU? Seams like it would be almost a standard feature. Keeps the truck from running so much and the driver warm / cool and plenty of power.

Expensive and heavy is the only thing I can think of.

I have a Rand McNally. Mostly I use my atlas, though.

I was explained that they need a certified mechanic with specialty training to work on those things and they are heavy too.. make the trucks run heavier = more fuel cost.
