Hey everyone I'm trying to get into tucking. I'm going to try and go to a private cdl school near my house but if that falls through I'm going to try to go to Millie at the Trenton Ohio school. I just applied online and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what the next step in the process is. Also, I was wondering how much money I will need to get through school for food and stuff until I get a paycheck. I'm pretty strapped for money right now but I think I can come up with the 500 for school just wondering how much else you all usually took for food etc.
Just applied

Just depends on if they provide any meals while in training and how long it will be before you receive first pay. I went through FFE/KLLM in Fort Worth Texas and they provided breakfast and supper plus gave us orientation pay the day after we finished orientation. My friend however went through SWIFT, they provided breakfast and lunch but first pay is not for two weeks. Ask, Ask, Ask questions to anybody who has been.

Lol, I know that is what you are trying to do, ask questions, I was not trying to sound rude.

Honestly I hope you have a substantial nest egg before you start. You better hope your trainer driver takes pity on you. Living on the road will cost you dearly even buying food and putting it in a refridgerator isnt cheap and your paychecks with millis with the miles you will cover during your training will come to les than minimum wage. I am a driver for Millis and have been researching other companies for the last 6 months to be able to leave with the least amount of hassle of making the change. Millis doesnt care about their drivers well being....only about their equipment. They really dont care about turnover as they graduate enough greenhorn drivers to fill the vacancies left by experienced drivers. Use the company to your advantage. Get your training, get some miles under your belt, then run away as fast as you can. I admit there are far more worse companies out there than Millis, but there are a good deal of better ones too.

( see powder joints post) my response was aimed towards that. It was not aimed at you and sorry if it came across that way.Last edited by a moderator: Oct 15, 2014

The grain of salt, that should be taken is that only newbies post here, veteran drivers do not like working here. This is your first company Harley, right, what are you basing your thoughts on?
