Yeah, I guess I might have come across wrong and for that I apologize. Just wanted anybody interested in this company to know what they are getting into. Was not trying to step on any toes or anything.

LOL!!! Why not post your experiences with PTMG here? Regarding the mod who didn't post specifics regarding her husband's employment - I don't think anyone was calling her a liar but did use a poor choice of words for sure.

My company has used internet recruiters in the past on this site; all too obvious and often funny to those who know better. Of a more serious concern is the use of 'security moles' (my term) or 'employee relations contractors'?

These are people who pose as 'fellow employees' and are anything but. They are mostly used to intimidate the 'problem people' and build false consensus.

I spoke to one of our 'security moles' while out on the road a few months back and he was all too obvious. His 'employment history' with our co. sounded good but didn't add up. We were at the same customer job site together two days earlier; he arrived at the site about 4 hours prior to me but only left 1/2 hour ahead of me (identical workflow). It was obvious he was a complete 'novice' and ill at ease with the workflow despite claiming he had been doing this type of work for about 5 years longer than me.

Mr. 'mole' also claimed he worked for PMTG when things were slow in the past (many short layoffs during slow periods in our line of work). Mr. 'mole' couldn't provide specifics but continued to pound home what a great company they were because they were 'non union'. In fact, Mr. 'mole's entire conversation with me on that date revolved around the theme 'unions are bad'.

Approximately 2 weeks later, I ran into another 'security mole' who gave the exact same 'employment history' and couldn't stop talking about how 'unions are bad'!!! No one was impressed as he was all too obvious. The 'coaching' these people receive must be interesting. I recall reading from the PMTG website some time back and wasn't impressed at all.

But I suspect that if one thinks Hunt - Swift - Schneider, etc. are 'good jobs' then PMTG might be right up their alley.:biggrin_25520:

Per normal, again IMO PMTG is not even close to being like the companies mentioned by the previous poster............

Due to the fact that I choose NOT to post specfics about my husbands job some people think I am a "mole" or he is full of BS...LOL.

I have all the pay sheets and can almost tell ya when he is loaded how much the load pays without even having to think about it. PMTG has always treated us well, honored vacation requests, gotten him home pronto when there/if there were family emergencies, and as for break down....not a common thing with them. YES he has had breakdowns...hasnt everyone? HOWEVER it is always taken care of quickly which is nice in this industry.

Sorry to those who feel I am just braggin them up.....I am NOT a negative person to begin with and I guess there are no 100% perfect people or companies out there.

PMTG is IMO a good company

Have been searching through threads, cant seem to find any post about PMGT more recent than this one. I see there have been some name callings, didn't want to start a new thread so please allow me to bring it to life if u may.

It's been my ambition to learn the ropes of car hauling just to diversify my expertise and earn a decent wage while doing so. I am young, 5'7 and quite physically fit so I am not worried about climbing into a baby bmw or a zr-1 through the window nor am i worried to drive a sporty manual tranny given that I owned one myself, I am rather worried about scratching them up. Which confirms it isn't an easy job by any measure. The more difficult part of this initiative of mine was to find a car hauler willing to train. I found PMGT, filed an application which has been positive so far and awaiting approval.

However, I couldn't do an extensive research; have been looking but don't seem to find those enclosed car rigs at the truck stops no more to ask question. They advertise 70k per year. I am from philadelphia, PA, is the advertised pay attainable by a new guy doing the northeast regional? Will also like to know about their home-time policy, benefits and any helpful comments, information or tips will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Home time depends on if you are on a 2 or 3 week rotation. 2 weeks out it typically 14-16 days out then 2 or 2.5 days home. One home time is during the week and the other is the weekend, at least thats how they TRY to do it. 3 weeks out is 3 days home.

Most of your questions are better answered at orientation for sure. One tip....inspect your vehicles BEFORE you move them! Ask the drivers at the ports for help or info when your loading they are mostly a good group and more than willing to help out the newbie...as are all the people I have ever spoken to at PMTG.

As for trucks at the truck stops....BREEZEWOOD is a pretty popular one with these guys/gals. Hubby is there himself most weeks at least 3 times for the night...just depends on if he gets is favorite runs to the west.

Spent a LOT of time at that truck stop when I ran with them. I am not really a social person by nature, but I think everyone that worked there (T/A) knew me by name just cause they saw so much of me. Sometimes on the weekend there would be 10-15 of us there at one time.
