I am a newbie and just finished up with a school to get my cdl. Passed everything just fine had no problems. Now I have to choose between FFE or KLLM. I have heard good and bad about both and I know that what you put in is what most likely what you will get out. Would just like to hear what you have heard or from truckers that work for them.:biggrin_2556:

KLLM pushes lease are wanting to go that route this early in the game?
FFE has reefers, BOTH companies have nice equipment from what I had seen.
You only have two outfits in your wish list?
Just curious, I never worked for either. Good luck!

I also have offers from Werner and USA. It seems to me that FFE or KLLM were better, but then I really do not know.:biggrin_2556:

Hey, I'm a few months behind you and I have read a bunch of post here... I would suggest that you go with your gut.. I'm seriously thinking about going with KLLM or one of those guys, Try and stay away from the "Driver Mills" I would go in and read all the wherefores on here of all that you want to check out, Take what you read with a grain of salt, If you think someone has a chip on their shoulder they probably do, they may even have a good reason to have that chip but what you can do is ask yourself if you think that is an isolated incident or is it an issue you may want to be aware of, Like I said I have read loads on several different companies, I think that getting your schooling out of the way is the best thing you can do, Again I'm just a wannabe but the driver mills have you nailed to the wall for the training if you were to go thru their school.. I hope this helps, Ask the questions, There are many many guys here that know a lot about everything about this gig, I wish you luck, Stay safe. TD.

I work for ffe currently. They aren't terrible but the miles are low. Average about 2k a week for me. Trucks are pretty new. Mine is a 2007 and I'd one of the older ones in the fleet

I would stay away from Werner and USA just search each of them on here to see why. I've also heard that kllm pushes lease hard and I would strongly suggest against lease/purchase and I think the majority of my fellow drivers would agree with that statement. A friend of mine worked for ffe for 7 years he did a lot of frozen ltl from Chicago area to md/va/pa/nj area. He said they were a good company overAll health reasons forced him to take a local job. Anyway I hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck driver. Be safe and keep us updated.

Both are well established companies. FFE is around for 60 plus years, KLLM, over 40. I worked for FFE for 18 months in the late 90's. You will get to the west coast with FFE often. KLLM does regional. Both are reefer and decent equipment. FFE is more solo oriented, KLLM team. Home time for FFE is so/so. FFE owns American Eagle (dry van) and Lisa (reefer). You will pull each others trailers. FFE has terminals in N.J./Atlanta/Lancaster,Tx./Chicago. And a couple drop lots, Memphis for one and I think N.Ca, Tracy area. FFE does not do produce, but does do meat/chicken. KLLM does do produce.

    truckerdaddy24 and Greenster Thank this.

Whoa, wait a minute now, you mean Allow me made a boo-boo. That's bad for my image. Guess I should have said when I drove for them in the late 90's, they didn't haul produce then.
