Actually they were one of the first that I contacted along with Van Wyk. They were getting my transcripts from the school I attended when I heard from Jeanne. I have spoken with Jeanne again and I will be coming on board with Van Wyk in a few weeks. Really looking forward to it. Thanks for the insight during my search, I really do appreciate it.

Hey tigerhawk757, I will be coming on board with Van Wyk in a few weeks and I was hoping you could shed some light on what to expect, loads, routes, pay, atmosphere, etc. You can DM me if you have the time.

Thanks MGuard, played phone tag with Jeanne today but hopefully I will start two weeks from Monday. I am looking forward to working with everyone at Van Wyk. Thanks for all the input and advice along the way to this point.
So, what should I expect starting out?

The honey moon phase should last at least a month.

Well...you'll get some really nice loads, you'll get some snafu's, some days you'll smile thinking you're in tall cotton now, then other days not so much. In other words, it's just truckin.

    1tidefan Thanks this.

Any of y'all want to give me the insight to what I can expect from my trainer, my first assigned truck, the routes I will be running ie., the areas, stopping points, areas to park, for my first few months until I settle in?

I can't really say what it will be like with your trainer, I don't personally know him. I would think though, if he's been chosen as a trainer he must be top notch, especially since we're not really a training/starter company. They'll want the trainer to turn out top notch new drivers as well. And, in turn, your trainer would be the one to show you the ins and outs of the lanes you'll run.

If I had any advice for a new guy, it would be to protect your license at all costs. Obey all traffic laws, be sure all your ducks are in a row. Drive the speed limit. Speeding won't necessarily get you to your destination any quicker. They can fire you for being late, but if you have tickets on your record you may not get another driving job, certainly you may not get a GOOD driving job. Anyhow, I hope this helps. Oh, 1 more thing, very important, keep communication open. If something bothers you or you don't understand, ask/talk about it.
