I have worked for them on several different occasions and I must say you'd be hard pressed to find a better bunch of people to work for! When I first started work there it was a small company(maybe 35 trucks) and everyone treated you like family. They were always willing to help out with any sort of family emergency and went beyond the call to make sure you got the time you needed to deal with your business.
The ports can be a very trying place to deal with and I think alot of the drivers are too quick to point the finger when there is no way they can know the whole story.
All in all if you want to work somewhere you'll be treated fair and be able to get home more than once a month this is a good company to work for.

So, you just gonna' tease us a little bit about the company? Tell us more. I know they do containers from Phx-Long Beach. What else about them?

I have recently heard they have bought some dry vans (not sure how many) and are hauling some freight in the western region as well. I know that they are updateing their fleet and the trucks are in pretty good shape now.
Like all the other companies there are pros and cons. The nice thing about these runs though is that you can usually get by the house every other day and can have the majority of the weekend off. Also you can run it like an OTR deal and knock out your three runs then have your time off.
The ports like I've mentioned can be a pain though, remember they are operated by the union and quite frankly they're the laziest bunch of people I've ever encountered. On the up side sometimes you can get lucky enough to get in and out then you're on your way.
The daily routine usually goes something like this:
In the morning deliver or drop your load in the Phx. yard, pick up an empty, then go pick up a load to run to the port. Now depending on how your day went you'll either head to the port or you may have time to relax for awhile before you have to head out as the ports are working nights now and you can't get in before like 4:00 or 5:00 pm. You'll drop your inbound pick up your out bound and head back to Phx. That's the just of it! -

I have to agree I worked for them a few years and felt the set up coming. then when they took my truck because I pissed off someone in the family I moved on and wont look back even after running into family at a local store and asked if I would be interested in coming back. I have seen the way they do thing and get rid of driver way to often. then fight the unemployment claim.

I drove for them subcontracted by cds for a few weeks,
1) crappy equipment to the point I was put OOS in Apache junction on the way to Tucson
2) office support was ok, but nothing to rave about
3) crappy pay
