Yes, I can confirm that this test is done, but it is at a physical exam done at the company's request. The next step is a so-called "Pre-Work Physical Assessment" and that is my next step. It is going to take some practice and I wanted to get an idea of its difficulty. Thanks for your try.

Might be like I took at Eagle. They note your range of motion, simulate opening a hood, squatting and walking under a trailer. Motion of your neck etc. Climb a ladder, lift weights, set them in a crate, lift crate, set back down, add more weight, repeat as much as you can. Balance on one foot, you know, agility tests. Boss at Eagle said nobody ever failed. They do have a record of what you can do at prehire for any future worker comp claim. No big deal.

Thanks. There are similarities with what Schneider claims, but I haven't been there yet and can't personally verify anything. A recent new bulk driver told me what he had to do for Schneider and it even differed from what was sent to me for prepping (walking backwards on a balance beam, etc.). Guess I'll do what I can to prepare and hope for the best.
    Thanks for your input.

Here is an older thread I remembered that described the tests. Maybe PM the OP since he took them recently.

If schneider isn't the place to start out on tankers for a new driver, who would you suggest in the Houston area?

To the original thread by the OP..

Are you sure this driver wasn't compensated for his work?

I mean really..Who is going to start work at 2 30 am and finish at 3 30 pm.. And Not get paid?

Why aren't you guys paid hourly handling chemical/food grade tanks? Safety,Thinking, all play a huge role in accident- free operation.

This just sounds strange.......And If that is true, Schneider should be stripped of its authority to be an employer.

A guy at Burger King made more that day than a tanker driver for Schneider working his butt off .. WOW,Sad.

You have to roll with the punches, how often will this happen, not often so from time to time take one for the team.
