Can anyone tell me about A+R Transport? They are a bulk carrier based out of Joliet, IL. I have done an online application and an actual paper application that I mailed in. The recruiter phone number doesn't work. I've tried several times. They sent me a duplicate email that was sent to 'Kristine' telling her to answer my questions. I haven't heard a thing from her.
Does anyone know what's up with this company?

I wonder if they are still in business. I used to see there truck around all the time. Haven't seen one in a while. Plus their website still says there trucks are governed at 70mph:biggrin_25516:

I drove past that terminal a couple weeks ago and see there trucks all the time. They are still there. Looks like a good place to work for and they have some nice trucks.

They had a help wanted sign in Muscle Shoals a couple of weeks ago hanging on the fence. Pretty Pete's, and Freightliner hoods.

I guess it's possible they're just not hiring right now. Or maybe I don't qualify. Either way , I'll keep trying. I'm not desperate for work but I would like to get out of where I am now. Maybe an A+R driver will see this and give me a heads up about this company...thanks!

I'm not an A&R driver, nor have I ever been.

I have hauled pneumatic tanks though and spoke with their several of their drivers.

All of them were happy there as they made good money and were home regularly.

Have you tried Googling them for their number?

Sometimes a search like that will result in a different number that might get you to whomever you need to speak with in recruiting.

BTW the sign said $.48 a loaded mile. guess the dead head is free.

I talked to a woman who's husband was there out of Nashville. They were regional and made him go OTR when the economy crapped out.

They pay more per loaded mile than they do empty miles per the website but according to it you do get paid for empty miles

From what I've heard from the AR drivers, they seem fairly happy, over there.

As far as truck speed, it's 65mph if you use paper logs & they "open" the truck to 72mph if you use their electronic logs.

Be ready to spend a lot of time in rail yards loading plastic, however.
