You'll work your arse off running fruit, and it's fairly seasonal, but with that said I've always wanted to do it. I hauled sod out of south Florida for years and ran with those guys quite a bit up and down 27. Have fun, watch out for the "goats":biggrin_25512:

Well heres an update. I got my truck home yesterday this day cab is nice beleave it or not I been driveing for ten years and never had one!!
I have a very big peace of land but have never been able to get a trl home theres a tree or a bush every where but with the day cab and 42 ft trl right in!!
Witch is great cuz the truck has a telatrax?? in it that I clock in when I get in but my day can't start till I hook to a trailer so this way Im on the clock right out the front door!

And here is a brake down on how my bonus works

Year end 30 day bonus 150.00 per 30 days
Based on 30 consecutive days without any infractions wich are just your normal no no's

    Perfect attendance 200.00

Year end safety bonus 700.00 tatol
again with no tickits crashs ect..

    Year end bonus 1000.00 tatol
Must remain with company entire season or entire bonus is lost.

Sooo glad to be back with a small company again! a company thats not in the ''trucking'' business but in the fruit business nice to be treated like a person again!

jlind if you don't mind telling me/us who do you drive for? just woundering from reading your post I cant geuss it.

As for the truck offer he will wish he would have taken it I think. Theres a lot of places IRT go's that you will lose loads with that 387 hes got.

I myself hate 387's not very driver friendly.

Stabob, it's a small 3 truck operation for now, I think looking to add a 4th next spring but we'll have to wait and see there. I'll ask him if he minds me posting his name here, I don't think it will be a problem but some people are funny about these forums and I don't need to rock the boat!!! We do 53' dry only and live load/unload which I could live without, it's nice to have the ability to drop and hook sometime!!
Off to Ga. tomorrow and then????

Drop hook n book is like a sore d&%@ you cant beat it!!

Thers always a trade off on something pay, hometime, trucks always something.

i wanted to get into citrus.. but all of the companies i talked to wanted 2 or 3yrs.. i only had six months.. i even tried to lease on to them, same thing.. so now i'm just waiting out my time.. if someone told me i could lease a truck on somewhere, i'd drop this otr #### so quick and go buy a truck, i miss dirt roads, blind turns, and canals with no bottoms.
