JR a Howard driver has just called and said that he's about to leave from Laurel and will be here in Henderson tomorrow morning to pick me up around 7:30 or 8:00. I don't know if he's going to be my trainer or anything like that. I guess I will find out when I get there and get through orientation. I've been looking all over this site for anyone that started out with Howard Transportation as a student driver so I can know what to expect as far as orientation and training but I found nothing. I will be sure to keep updating you guys and gals on my Howard experience so that the next person looking to go to Howard Transportation knows what to expect. Wish me luck! I'm so excited...I can but I can't wait!!!!

I worked with Howard as a Student driver back in December and January of this year. Nice people, don't worry you'll do fine.

WHAT'S GOING ON THERE DRIVERS. THIS AN OFFICIAL EMPLOYEE OF HOWARD TRANSPORTATION AND HOWARD IS A GRRRREEEEAAATTTT COMPANY TO WORK FOR . THEY START YOU OUT WITH 34 cent A MILE…GREAT BENEFITS YOU GET $20.00 EVERY TIME YOU TARP YOUR LOAD 4 QUARTERLY BONUSES OF $500.00 FOR EXCELLENT DRIVING AND NO IDLEING OF THE TRUCK. TOP PAY IS 40 CENT A MILE. WITH THE MILES YOU PUT ON WITH THE COMPANY YOU ALSO GET GIFTS SUCH AS HATS SHIRTS LEATHER JACKETS A HOWARD WATCH WHICH BY THE WAY WHEN I SEEN MY TRAINERS I THOUGHT IT WAS A ROLEX. LOL AND WITH 500,000 MILES WITH THE COMPANY YOU GET A HOWARD GOLD RING WITH A DIAMOND IN IT. AND AFTER THAT THAT'S RIGHT I'M NOT DONE YET EVERY 500,000 MORE MILES YOU PUT ON YOU GET MORE DIAMONDS PUT IN THE RING SO IF YOU WANT TO YOU COULD GET IT ICED OUT LOOKN REAL NICE. BUT I HOPE THAT IS SOME GOOD INFO ON HOWARD. WE RUN UP AND DOWN THE EAST COAST STRICTLY NO WEST COAST. AND ALL THE TRUCKS ARE AUTOMATICS THAT'S EVEN BETTER. THANKS FOR READING MY BLOG GOD BLESS AND REMEMBER JESUS LOVES YOU AND HE SAVES BE SAFE DRIVERS!!!!!!!

I work for them they haul their transformers from Laurel Mississippi and their steel to Mississippi and anything else that will fit on the trailer in between trips to Mississippi, just like any other flatbed company, mainly lumber north and steel south. But unlike other companys I've worked for I have nothing bad to say about them.

Howard transportation is owned by Howard industries of Laurel Ms. they primarily service Howard industries transformer manufacturing company. Dispatch goes out after 3 pm in Ellisville[thats when Howards releases the loads] equipment is for the most part no older than 4 years old they have a few owner ops' but even dispatch discourages owner operators from leasing due to the lower rate paid to them. trucks are SLOW WITH AUTO SHIFT AND AUTOMATIC 10 SPEEDS. strip down international 70 inch sleeper and some frieghtliners. they do pay good with benefits they are very strict on company policy's a full week of paid orientation complete with motel and meals they do a lot of Pa since thats where a large portion of their steel comes from mostly you will go out with transformers and come back with steel plate or coils. hope this helps.
