Does anyone have information on driving for Wal-mart? I did a search and read most of the posts regarding Wal-mart, but it didn't really help...so I figured I'd ask it directly.
In my opinion it doesn't have to be Wal-mart, however my husband talks to different drivers everyday and there's always a new company that he hears of that's supposed to be "really good". I feel like asking him "if they're so good, why aren't those guys with them anymore?"...but I dont.

Anyways, MY concern is that after he's done driving for a year, and he's ready to go to a new company...can we realistically expect him to find a good job out there with only one year experience under his belt? Is this one of those situations where he's going to be "paying his dues" until he's 60 and then finally gets to tell younger drivers to do the same thing?
geez....I'm freaking out about this. sorry.
    *sigh*
okay, any advice that ya'll can give would be appreciated. Thank you.

Had to add something else after reading more posts: Should I be insanely worried that my husband signed a contract stating that he was to stay for a year in order to pay off his tuition? It seems like the more posts I read, the more panicked I get..... I sure wish there were more encouraging posts.... but then again, it could just be the ones I'm choosing to read. Sorry.

What part of the country do you live in? Your husband will have to have several years of experience before Walmart will consider him. It can take a while to get hired on with them it just depends on where you live.

We live near Houston, Texas. We're interested in moving, but it can't be out of state...so he'd prefer something from here.

There are a few good companies in your area. How much experience does he have? Also what endorsements does he has on his license?

My husband will have one year T/T experience once he's finished with Stevens Transport, which is in about nine months. He wants to get his tanker and hazmat endorsement...other than that, I don't know what kind he has. The hazmat takes two months, but the tanker is easy to get. We live about 5 miles from the DMV place, so getting endorsments is relatively easy...if he can pass the tests.

When he gets his year in, send me a message on here, and I will direct you to a good company in the Houston area where he can most likely run either local in a day cab, or regionally in a sleeper. He'll be able to get home anywhere from dasily to several times a week, make good pay, and do a very enjoyable form of trucking, with almost no waiting time for loads.

Assuming that he keeps his record clean, and meets the standards, he can find very good work that pays well once he has his year of experience in.

I'll expect to hear from you in May or so.

unless policy changed Walmart also will not accept any accidents or tickets on your driving record. I checked on driving with Walmart once when I had a delivery to one of their distribution centers. Would be a great job if you can get it though.

Walmart requires at least three years of experience before they will look at you (I believe) so at best they are looking at a 33 month wait until they could even apply to go there. And even then, it depends on whethe or not Wally World is hiring in that particular location or not.

Just wondering.I see an awful lot of companies pulling WalMart trailers out on the road.US Express,JB,just to name a couple.Seems like there are more outside cos.pulling their trls.than the regular Walmart trucks.Anything in the wind about this?

My wife is a receiving manager at walmart. They have a lot of contracts with other co's pulling their freight. Seems like they will switch up from time to time. Depending on the area. Seems like you see a lot of swift trucks with wallyworld trailers.
