I recently started my own business in Los Angeles, CA. and am currently trying to find an o/o or company that includes a flatbed/moffett in there fleet. I sometimes have customers that need me to deliver to there doorstep a big wooden moving vault and as of right now i dont have a way to do it. I was wondering if anyone knows of a company or an o/o that would be able to help me out? it will be just regional deliveries ( I would guess maybe a 50 mile radius around Los Angeles area). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Man it seems like these flatbed/moffett guys are a secret society or something After posting on many forums contacting over 200 trucking/flatbed/shipping companies i have to yet find one person to even have one of these. I know they exist as i see them everywhere. Is this something i have to buy and maintain and hire a driver for? Anyone know of any companies that even do this sort of thing??? I have been looking into this for the better half of 3 months now and seem to be getting nowhere :(

rent a folklift or moffett to useat the job site. use it to move the vault. and have it picked up. no need to buy one.

This is not very cost effective to rent a forklift when i have to deliver to 5 different people every day at various locations which are all residential. I have a forklift at my warehouse that i own but i need it in my warehouse. for me to function efficiently i need to find someone that has a flatbed and moffett to deliver these containers. the containers are 8'x5'x7' and most customers use 1-3 of these depending on the size of there home and what they need to move / store. I mainly do relocations, but can store these containers as well. At the moment my customers come and load at my warehouse, for some that works out and some there better off going with another company. and thats my problem. I want to broaden my horizons and be able to get my containers to them, and once there loaded up they get picked up from there house and delivered to my facility.

I think you'll find that the Moffett is too small and won't lift your containers.

I'm sorry I don't mean to come off rude... but I'm not here for your personal opinions on whether a moffett will lift my boxes or not... I know what i want, i just don't know where to find it... i saw this forum and thought it may be a good place to look.

And please if your going to give a personal opinion, at least give me an educated one at that...

I know this will work for a fact as most people in the industry I'm in use them. and BTW most moffetts i have looked into lift 5,000 lbs (i know the standard lifts 3,000) my boxes only weight 750 lbs empty and will support 2500 lbs. i have yet to see one of these weight over 2600 lbs fully loaded. not saying people wont over load them but i have yet to see that happen and i have worked with a moving company such as the one i started on my own for over 4 years.

I would go out and buy your own if need it daily or four to five times a week. Most companies who use them utilize it daily for their needs which puts you at the bottom of the list. You could check into lumber yards and rental companies such as Penske and Ryder to see if they could put you into contact with someone that has one.

I am not looking to purchase a Truck, flatbed trailer, moffett... I am a small company and just starting out and hence why I am trying to find an o/o of the equipment or a company with the said rig. I om an only interested in if someone knows a nationwide company that has these within there fleet or an owner operator that operates within CA. for now eventually i may go the route and buy my own and hire drivers. but I'm not at that point yet.

Californians! And they wonder why people feel that way about them. Please excuse the Northern Californians from this thought. They're alright. Apparently he/she knows all there is to know except where to get one. Personally, I'll take 27 years experience over an internet picture. Maybe he could call that number in the picture for Princeton and ask them.
