I drove for RFS for 3 years in their eastern PA division. Long days, hard work unloading by hand cart, great money. Benfits are comparable to any other company. Home everyday, most of the time. Plan on working 11-16 hours a day, every day. As long as you can physically do the work, its a great job. Keeps you in shape. I got fired bc of an accident in NJ, otherwise I probably would have stayed much longer than 3 years. Typical bi-weeklypaychecks at the eastern PA division (when i was last there in 08)....take home 1400-2200 after taxes. pay was 29.5 cents per mile, 19.5 cents per case (your moneymaker), 2.30 per stop and $20 for a backhaul, which was pretty rare. US foods and sysco might pay hourly at some terminals, but it is right in line w reinharts pay scale. Great company to work for.

May i add most of the drivers are in the bi-weekly take home rate of around 1700, after taxes and BS. the guys who made 1400 were closer to retirement, taking out easy routes every day with no mileage and only like 400 cases a day.

weekends off but they toss you an extra 100$ on top of route pay if you choose to work a weekend. if you do need a hotel they have corporate lodging cards and reimburse a meal up to 17.50 per overnight stay. routes out and back every day. could be 400+ mile with 1000 cases, or 200 mile with 500 cases. Bet your money senior guys will have the moneymakers. but foodservice has a high turnover rate, maybe bc people dont actually realie how PHYSICAL it really is. but after 2 weeks, youre body will stop hurting and youll be used to it. good luck.

I'm in atl ga its a few of these places around here. Which is the best to work for? Averitt is not a good place for me. I make no money there.

I know this post is a bit outdated but it sounds like this job only pays about $850.00 a week, tops.
Doesn't sound all that great to me.
