I am tired of working for other people so me and a great friend have decided to start our own business. The only problem that i have is i need a 3 car trailer. I have a 96 Ford F 350 dulley, I have a person who can give me some work by picking up cars from Florida, but money is hard to come by. All of the 3/4 car trailers that i am finding cost to much and the ones we can afford are all ready sold. We have 3000-4000 dollars. Im not looking for a hand out or anything like that just looking for help. I believe in trusting people, I believe that there are still trust worthy people out there. I dont believe in being dishonest. Please if you know someone who has a 3/4 car trailer please shoot me an e-mail. Thanks and have a great day and be safe.

    Everett Thanks this.

You can also look into Peer to Peer lending for a small loan if you are needing more money. It takes banks out of the equation and is people lending to other people. You may be able to do something there. :)

I don't know your credit rating, but see if you can get a small business loan. There are also government loan programs for start-ups.

I'd hate to break it to you, but even as a O/O you're still working for someone else.

Now he's got to answer to the insurance man, the US DOT man, the state DOT man, the state registration man, the repair shop owner man, the tax man, the man with the money, the man with the work, and the man who doesn't want to pay his invoice(s). Sole proprietorship is not for everyone, but I can appreciate his effort so long as he knows what he's trying to get his self into.

And don't get me started on the guaranteed problems of "co-ownership with friends/family".

Not to mention scraping money together to buy a trailer then, where is the 60 days (minimum) worth of capital to pay for fuel and cover other expenses while waiting on receivables to be paid? In a very competitive business that gets done cheaply all day every day. Sounds like OP must be going to run outlaw avoiding the cost of authority, etc. Good luck with that. Add all these costs in and all of a sudden it doesnt look so sure anymore..

Leave the 'headaches' to the business owner and continue to work for the other guy. Seriously, 'rolln coal' and 'STexan' brought up real good points. If you're struggling to find the funds to purchase the trailer, then you're doomed to fail from the starting gate.

Good Grief, some of you people are so negative. If Thomas Edison and Alexander Graham Bell where as negative as people today are, we would all be sitting in the dark wondering why we haven't heard from mom today.
