MILS Hazmat Tankers - FL,TN,TX
Any other MILS drivers in here?
MILS, Miller Intermodal Logistics is a 3PL / brokerage with new trucks that run out of FL,TN and TX transporing resin and other hazmat loads. Our drivers run pete 386's, are assigned to Channelview TX, Lakeland FL and Collierville TN and haul preloaded bulk tanker loads to our customers. Then grab a prewashed trailer (85%),or wait to get cleaned out(15%) and load with raw materials back, grab a system load or DH home depending on whats going on. If you run the system, then you wait to get loaded but its a paid break the way i see it.
I retired from the FD, ran with Carry 5 months,Tankstar for a year and stumbled upon MILS on day while fueling, and assigned to lakeland FL. So here I am posting about it.
Last week, I grabbed my loaded trailer on Mon, and delivered early west of Brunswick Ga that night, the customer called me asking if I could get there the night before.I said heck ya, unloaded at 8pm then headed back to Lakeland.Took my break at the yard and a shower, grabbed my trailer Tues and headed for Clarksville, TN. Got as far as the Busy Corner(x105 I-24) in TN and shut down for the night. Next morning I ran up 24 to the Briley Pkwy around Crashville, got off at X 24 to visit a local mom and pop buffet called BJ's. Its South of I-24 straight through the first light on the left, has room for 6 or 8 of us. Good food, nice folks, fresh salad bar, Headed out to my customer, unloaded then took off down 79 to 22 to I-40.
Nice ride going across the kentucky lake then south on I-55 to Batesville to take my break. Got around the quagmire on I-10 in layfayette by diverting to 94 South of the Breaux Bridge Pilot and past the chaos at the 103 mm neat the TA. Then stopped for my meal break at the Rice Palace in Crowley X 80, and into Houston around 4pm. Got a layover in and my apu serviced before loading in Deer Park Friday afternoon. Then off to Biloxi MS,shut down for the night and arrived in Lakeland to drop my loaded trailer at 6:30 pm Sat.
This coming week, I get 2 Ocala Loads,a few trailer shuttles and a Baytown TX. I dont usually post from my smartphone during the week, but will check in to see whats happening here and answer replies.

Sounds like a good deal. Where are your terminals located?
I love stopping along I 10 in La. The Frog City truck stop a few exits West of the Rice Palace has some good food as well. Last time I was there I ordered popcorn shrimp. They were as big as my thumbs.

Another driver mentioned frog city to me and I will check them out. If you go to the rice palace the buffet is a lunchtime deal. I think they do seafood on fridays.

We are a 3PL and located inside our customers facilities so it requires an appointment and phone interview prior to the scheduled appointment. I sent you a pm.

Did my Ocala run, dropped and swapped in Tampa, then did 2 more shuttles and got my radio fixed by Lee at the tankwash /chrome shop cb store. As annoying as it is sometimes, it has saved me from sitting in a parking lot quite a bit.

kurbski, could you send me the info too, I used to do tanks a while back for Sicomac/Younger but not sure how recent MILS will need tank experience, sounds like a pretty good deal though!
Thanks...

I like my ride but the anti pollution stuff is a pain. The C13 has a DPF and has to do a regeneration. If your fuel filters haven't been changed, it won't do a good regen. Gotta love the EPA.
