so i just spoke with sharon at mct driving academy and sound like a great program and from what i told her she said i should have no problem getting on with them. i know recruiters lie and whatever but i need a comapny that gets me my cdl because i cant afford school. i dont mind signing a 1 year agreement to stay with them and i dont mind staying out 3-6 weeks at a time. ive been out a month at a time with a friend of mine who drives for a O/O and i loved every minute of it. also im NOT getting into trucking for the money because i know the money isnt the greatest but im getting into it for the love of doing it and also i love driving period. ever since i was a little kid i have always been amazed by big rigs and always wanted to drive one and now that im old enough (23 years old) im going to go ahead n get my foot in the door with MCT. ive heard mostly good things about mct and there school sound pretty legit. if i dont get accepted into mct then it looks like my next choice will be Prime even tho i heard alot of bad about them but i also heard some decently good info on them too. whatever no matter where i start OTR it is going to be a bottom feeder company. best thing is about my situation is that i dont have a apartment or house to pay for or any bills at all besides my cell phone bill. so my expenses on the road will just be my phone bill and food and showers and all that good stuff. im going to run as hard as i can and not deny any loads at all n not take too much home time (looking to stay out for 6-8 weeks at a time) also want to get close with my FM so i can get good loads and miles and home time when i want or need it ya know. im really excited to start a career in trucking. i know the risk and know it isnt for everyone and ive done a TON!! or research on trucking and the lifestyle and everything. i know thats nothing compared to actually being on the road in that drivers seat but im very confident that i can do it. im a great driver and ive never driven a big rig but i have drove 26" box trucks and ive driven 10sp dump trucks a few times and im pretty good at it but still i know its nothing till i get into the driver seat of a real 18 wheeler lol. i plan on saving as much money as i can and get as much experience as i can and maybe in a few years after i save up as much as i can because my expenses are low maybe il be able to become a O/O but im not even going to get into that subject for ATLEAST 3-5 years down the road.

One of their main terminals is down here in Sanford, Fl not to far from me. I have looked into them several times and they really seem to be decent outfit. I would by far recommend them over Prime. MCT is just like Landstar in that they are comprised mostly of owner operators and also owner operators that have small fleets of trucks. That being said you have some really good opportunities in front of you to maybe end up working for one of them. MCT is also a broker company more than an actual trucking company so they have their own loads to pull from. Thus, keeping you busy!

Very happy for you man and wish you the best! Keep us informed as to how your experience with them goes.

    Good luck and drive safe...

    Deuce88 Thanks this.

yea im very excited to be going to work for them. im looking to be going out to south dakota for training with them in late july. yea i also plan after saving up as much as i can because i dont have any expenses and i want to get my own truck and lease onto a company so i dont need to get my own authority and all that other ########. because im looking to run as hard as i possibly can and be dedicated to trucking. also im single and have no kids so i dont need to be home very often and dont mind being out 2 months at a time wont bother me.

Chompi thank you for your input and once i start the process with them im going to start a daily log about the training and how things are going

Hey, what do you avg for miles? do you know the CPM for starting out? is it still a good place for you? they are 1 of 4 companies I have applied to just need to make a decision and commit to some one, I will have my CDL by March-1st and already have my double/triple/tanker/hazardous material endorsements.
Thanks for any information you can give.
