Go to the search box above and type "Sygma". All kinds of recent threads about them.

Would anyone be willing to share with me exactly how Sygma drivers are paid? I realize I could have tomato bombs thrown at me for explaining my reason for asking this question in this forum, but it's a risk I have to take, so hold on to your tomatoes and hear me out. :) For the past three years, my ex-husband's income from Sygma has increased. His 2009 W-2 income was in the high 50's, his 2010 in the 70's and his 2011 in the mid 90's. He has recently taken me to court to have his child support reduced for our three children. His claim is that his "guaranteed wage" from Sygma is $4,117 per month, therefore, his child support should only be based on that figure, and not on the actual the income of $95,794 that his 2011 W-2 showed, which calculates to a monthly income of $7,982. He has told the court that everything above and beyond the "guaranteed wage," is "overtime" and "bonuses." (Are you still holding on to those tomatoes?!) Does anyone know if literally half of a driver's income at Sygma is not an actual salary or wage, but overtime and bonuses? My ex has an attorney...I do not. Working mothers of three can't afford attorneys, you see? I'm attempting to do battle with merely my frequently blonde-esque intellect, my razor sharp wit and my sparkling personality. (I know what you're thinking..."she's gonna get SLAUGHTERED!") So, if you'd like to help a lovely, hard working mother of three adorable children (seriously...they're as cute as baby kittens!), I would truly, truly appreciate a clear explanation of Sygma's compensation.

Oh...this might help: 20 + years experience driving, 5-6 years with Sygma, over the road driver, travels with another driver, and works out of Denver, CO. Many, many thanks.

Doesn't matter if it's "guaranteed wages" or overtime, income is income and unfortunately for him he is going to have to pay based off total income. Don't know the whole story/situation but that entire system is truly messed up. Does Katie Holmes really need $30,000/month to take care of a 6yr old? Don't think so

I just had an interview with Sygma in Charlotte yesterday. I was told between 55k and 60k first year, and that some driveres were pushing six figures! Also, the benefits were pretty good too. Charlotte is non union also. I should have an answer by the end of the week. Being inexperienced, I am not holding my breath. If this doesn't work out, I have 2 other OTR companies to choose from. I just figured I would try for something local first.

    Warroom,
As a father who pays child support and one who also used to drive for Sygma I can tell you this. Catrucker is 100% correct. Whatever you make whether it's OT or not is used to figure your support payments. If his pay has gone up, guess what, you are then entitled to more money, even if you make more than you previously did. Trust me, I know this to be fact, lol. They will take his paystubs and calculate from that irregardless of OT, regular wages or whatever. There are alot of possible bonuses at Sygma but I never had any bonuses be even close to 50% of my pay. I think your ex is full of poo poo and will find out the hard way. Good luck, hope all works out for you.
