I hate to say it, but you'll be lucky to get a $100 a day for your down time. I "think" the reasoning is insurance companies kind of stick together. They all have to deal with each other on a daily basis, and keep those particular rates down low.

Of course there will be exceptions, and some guy on here may have negotiated himself a better rate. I'm simply speaking from my actual experience.

I'd almost buy another trailer to keep running, because from what you described, yours will be down a month and that's a lot of revenue lost. Buy an old fleet trailer from Knight or somebody for $5 grand, then deal with insurance.

Make shure you have some papertrail off those loads you had to give up.
Also calculate what is the daily revenue you normally have with that trailer.
That way you have you "evidence" off your loss ready to reply to any low offer the insurance will make.
Don't fold easy, you might be surprised what can be gained by showed a little backbone.

The insurance company won't pay lost revenue when rental trailers are available.
