| I drove for SML for several years. OUTSTANDING Company. No Hazmat. Preplanned loads, a lot of drop and hook, very little to no touch freight. Pet policy- no pets in company trucks, but you can drive an O/O truck if you want to bring your pets. They pay based on practical miles, (the shortest route) but you take whatever route suits you. Never had a problem getting miles, actually it was the other way around. I had trouble getting enough time to rest and catch up on laundry etc. As far as speed is concerned; don't get in any hurry, you are only going to go 64mph; so get in the granny lane, kick back, turn the cb off and the stereo up and enjoy the ride; cause it doesn't get any better than this. AWESOME company to work for, if you can meet the qualifications. (they are a bit tougher to get on with than most, and with good reasoning) I will say; they are not the top paying company in the industry, but the way they treat the driver definately makes up the difference.
