    background checks

I worked for a trucking company for 3 months and quit. This was about 4 months ago. I checked my dac and they did not report anything on my dac. My dac is clean and does not mention this company at all. If i decide to go work for another company can the company find out i worked for the previous company? Even if the previous company is not on my dac? And how can they found out?

    Thanks.

Most companies look at your first year as training even though you get upgraded from student to driver in a month or two. That's why so many ads for drivers ask for a year of experience rather than 3 months.

Having said that, if you have 4 months off in your training period, you will only be looked at as a student whose training has been interrupted. And in their eyes, you have been 7 months without driving since you got your CDL if you don't tell them about the 3 months with company X. That will raise a big flag! They may want you to go back through driving school.

My advice, tell the truth, and see which companies will hire with 3 months experience. I suspect it will be companies that hire students and they may bring you in for orientation and then perhaps a reduced amount of time with a trainer will be your best case. Others may want you to go through full trainer time.

Don't wait too long to get back to work or they will treat you like a brand new baby trucker.

    Good luck.

Just be careful because too many jobs in one year is also frowned upon. The other thing is, to start moving up the pay scale you need proven experience.

Well I checked my dac today and nothing is still on there. I dont want to report that I was with the other company and I have my certificate of completion from school. I don't mind going on the road with another trainer. I just do not want to report that I was with that company. Is there any other way a company can find out about a previous company besides using the dac?

OK, what you are asking here is; "If I falsify my job application, will the company find out about it." And the answer is "maybe." But what is certain is that if they do, your employment will come to an abrupt end with that company. AND, if THEY put that you falsified your application on your DAC, then you are really screwed.

I don't know, (or care,) why you don't want to show this employer, but you need to know the consequences of not doing so.

Best thing IMO is to be honest and forthright on your apps. sooner or later it will come back to bite you. i have been denied job ops in the past for not putting on the app that i attented orientation but never worked for the company.

there is always more to the story isn't there
there is a downside to have gaps in your work history
as bad as admitting you worked for unnamed company

well i guess everyone is on their moral high ground...drivers falsify their apps all the time and also have gaps in their employment. I'm assuming no one knows the answer to my question so therefore I will end this discussion...lol. I'm an adult I know it's not morally correct but without evil in the world you can't protect the good. Thanks for the lectures though.
