I tell the company at the interview that I will not run over hrs. don't ask !! PERIOD !!!!! if they have a problem with it ,I'll go elsewhere.
used to be able to and it didn't really matter ,once in a while. now we have a lot of enforcement and it just isn't worth my CDL . -
Picked up a "Hot Load"...Trailer tarped and waiting for me on the yard....Bill of lading has written right on the face of it in big letters in red pen...."Driver Responsible for overweight.....I stopped at the nearest scale WAY OVER WEIGHT....Called dispatch...."Do you want my to bring it back to the yard or back to the Shipper?"....NO ....can't you get it there without crossing the scales?....That was probably about when they started to not like me so much anymore...
They will ask you to break the rules..(The Law)....And throw you to the wolves.. -
and in the end if you do it...ITS YOUR FAULT...even tho they ask you to....its your responsiblity NOT to run illegal...and if you get caught...YOU pay the price...and will end up not being able to get a job...hope you do the right thing....STAY SAFE STAY LEGAL...its just not worth it...its not like it used to be....
