I read all the posts about Baldwin that preceded yours. Pretty fair rep it seems. From SAFESTAT, I see that they have a very respectable VehicleSEA of less than 20. Their DriverSEA is OK but could use a little boost downward. They're relatively small so one driver can have a greater impact.....so, be safe, think safe and have a good ride!

I did the lease with baldwin and ur first two chks will be good but after that ur money will be around 400 to 600 every two weeks... After that month it went down hill one reason was my dispatcher left the company. Everytime I would go to the yard u would see more and more trucks.. U would always finish another driver run.. Then I thought is ws me but all the lease drivers said the samething... Think they were in a slump don't really know I just had to leave almost lost my house because of them. I'll say this, U will drive a nice Volvo or Freightliner but your paymnts are around 1400 every two weeks and If u stay I hope ur dispatcher is Bree, she is the best.......

    Good Luck!!!

Stay away from baldwin unless you plan on starving for the next 3 yrs and the Fed Ex is not a sweet deal the company drivers all got forced on to it and had to take a pay cut...... from what they were already making. I had my truck for 5 mos within that 5 mos I had to have my apu fixed 2x's, inverter replaced 3 x's when the other ones didn't work from the time they put them in, and my Locking jaw fixed 3 times because they didn't fix it properly the first 2 x's. To boot I was told i would make 1700.00-1800.00 after all was taken out I was avg almost 8,000 miles every 2 weeks. Break even point was at 3,000 miles and still not even bringing a check home for more that usually a penny!

I can't stress enough..stay away. First, check out the CSA scores. They are over threshold limits in 3 categories, or they were when i checked it last month.

Lease payment on the truck alone is $700.00 per week. I know many lease operators there that got quite a few checks for a penny. That's right, a penny!

The only lease operators I know of that were making money were the ones running 4200 miles a week. Needless to say, they push you to run, even if it's illegal! It's not worth it to do that anymore with the new CSA rules.

The one good thing I'll say is they have nice equipment, but that's it.

One other thing, if you have to get a comcheck for any reason, it's a $5.00 fee for every one to the lease operator. They also charge you for trip pak express, even though they told us to stop using it. I left there back in April, and they were still charging me. They told us to stop using it back in January! Why pay for trip pak when you scan everything in????

Don't go there. Their lease is 900 bucks a week which is 700 for the truck and 200 more to go to your taxes and insurances and qualcom..etc. They run you good for maybe 2 weeks then you start getting paychecks for a penny! CSA scores are terrible...they are only 5 or 6 points away from being shut down. They want you to run illegal and/or overweight all the time and if you refuse, you start loosing miles. They tell you if you run 1500 miles per week then you will break even for your truck payments....HAHAHA! That is if you average 6.0 mpg on fuel and they have their trucks rigged to get less than 5.9. So...you can't make money working for them. It is impossible!

I agree with the last post on the equipment. It is all Volvo, but it isn't worth it to work for them.

Shouldnt .22 cpm be enough to rule a company out?
