I currently have a class A CDL, drove for swift briefly back in 2007, but due to dads illness, i had to leave the business and take a local warehouse supervisor job and yard hoslting, that company has now gone out of business, dads health is stable so been looking at getting back behind the wheel. Locals won't touch me due to lack of experience OTR, I still want to stay somewhat local/regional and don't mind being out a week or two at a time, only because my dad has PD so trying to stay somewhat regional. I applied at KKW, talked with the recruiter, and they offer:

2 days in Cali (i am in seattle washington) for orientation at 150.00 for the two days
    2 weeks with a trainer at 400.00 a week
    7 - 10 days out/ home for 2 - 3 days
    starting at .31 cpm
they run only the 11 western
they will train/help me get my doubles endorsement

I just wanted to see if anyone has worked for them, or knows anything about them. Still waiting to hear back on the application, so figured i would try and get some input from others in the meantime. I ultimately want to get a strictly local gig but i know i have to put in some OTR time first to get back into the swing of things.

    Thanks for any input!

Pay seems alittle low, but have talked to a couple drivers who
seemed happy enough to keep working there(3 years).
    Give it a try....

I talked to six different drivers about this company and all six are happy.. The question I have is, I live in Phoenix area and thinking about joining the KKW team and was wondering how much freight they have coming into the phoenix area so I can see my house? What's the home time like if you live in Phoenix?

I have been with them for more than 20yrs. Live in AZ and if that is where you want to be it will be made to happen. Want to stay out they will keep you out. Great people, great equipment. Want a fast truck, buy your own. You will be assigned your own tractor. You will not find more friendly people than we have here. You talk to your dispatcher face to face and not through a glass window. We are running paper logs, but I am sure, as soon as the feds crack down on us, it will be e-logs. If your shifting is not up to par, you will be trained for two weeks and I think that it will be around 400 per wk. during training. There will all be someone out there that will not have anything nice to say, but I would bet that is their outlook on life in general. Best of luck and I hope that this helps to you make a decision one way or the other. Ty
