We understand EXACTLY what you are talking about...would like to exchange some info with ya on this place...was promised base to work out of, out couple days, home regular, good loads....what a crock. not even CLOSE to real operation...not uncommon to get stuck 4-600 miles out, 18-44 hours b4 delivery then additional 6-24 hours b4 able to get another load. been 10-15 days out vs. the promised "couple". SERIOUS lack of planning and routing abilities here. Nothing consistant, never any answers on phones or responses that are very slow in coming back...would not advise ANYONE who considers themself a real truck driver to tolerate what this company has done to my "career".

I have worked for Foodliner for almost a year now. I work with one of their dedicated customers in Gary,IN . I don't love the company, but I don't hate it either, maybe that's because I am dedicated to 1 customer. I get home every night, I have a decent truck to drive. I did, however, get blamed for a mistake that i didn 't make. They recently gave my truck to a new driver with all of my stuff in it. That was about a month ago, They keep telling me that I'll get my truck back but I don't believe them.

I am leaving Foodliner. Your treatment there will be less than ideal, but if you need money take it and keep looking. I have decided to go over the road because if I am going to work for Foodliner I may as well. They dont get you home much, cater to those who bend the rules, dont dedicate and will keep your bonus for any little infraction. Just try and report a safety concern...ha...you will be ignored. So here is my response to you. Need to put food on the table, take the job, BUT keep looking. Beware, you will work 14 plus hour days, even with electronic logs, get just 10 or less off if you let them and they will send you to some of the tightest places you have ever imagined driving. Most bakeries have a huge number of non english speaking workers, they also will treat you like scumb and dont care how tight their location is for you to get your truck in. Good luck to you. I am done with Foodliner and am happy in my present new position.

To be real honest, I have never been treated so ###### by an employer. Foodliner will make you feel small so get ready for that. Check the turnover rate, it is high and for good reason. SNot nosed dispatchers out of Iowa, very young, not drivers. I dont think this company has ever done a site survey before accepting a customer, they just let the driver worry about it and if you even scratch the truck and they find out, you will be written up and they will keep your bonus or guarantee if you are on one. So to sum it up, Foodliner, SUCKS.

i heard the turnover rate was really low. maybe different location? i can't agree with you about getting wrote up for accidents - we're they you're fault? then you shold be wrote up. if i owned the truck i would want somebody to pay for it! now if you were innocent that's a different story. when i had an accident with Foodliner the manager took me and and asked a whole bunch of questions to try and figure out what happened and to get my side of the story.

Well, looky who I found!! The infamous Hogboy!!

I heard about a Foodliner driver getting fired for something he wrote on the internet. He is over at another site writing about it. Some guy named Hogboy joins the website the same day this happens, and jumps in defending Foodliner. Could this possibly be the same guy?

    Hmmmmmm?

    The other website is TruckstopUSA(dot)com.
On the welcome page, click where is says "Forum" in the upper left of the screen. In the Forums, look in the list for "Driver's Roundtable". In Drivers roundtable, look for the thread titled "The writing is on the wall" then follow up with "Wow, news travels fast"
You will see all you need to see, to know Hogboy is a Foodliner Plant. He is probably one of those fore-mentioned snot nosed dispatchers, earning extra cash trolling the net for bad stuff about Foodliner.

WOW!!!! I can't wait to go back to the other site, and put a link up to this thread.
