In either area you are going to haul steel. I was with a trainer that was in the building materials division and we hauled mostly steel. I would say it really would depend on where you are from and how it will effect your home time. The only pain with the building materials is when you get the wall board loads and you have to swap trailers and move all your gear from one trailer to the new one. They are pre loaded so that is a bonus, but if you dont end up with a head ache rack it is a real time consuming pain in the #####. Also some people that were in orientation with me thought they were going to be in the steel division and ended up being told they were on building materials. I dont think that it is that hard to get transferred if you get in one and decide it is not for you. I talked to one driver who made the switch and he said all he did was call the terminal manager and it was done. He is now driving out of the Gary terminal. I would just pick the one that will keep you near home the most and then go from there. Good luck and merry Christmas driver

The week was good. Jammed full of all kinds of new info and very fast pace. Some times I got sick of the parade of different department heads coming in through out the week to lecture, but other than that it was good.
Rainmaker13 Thanks this. -

CJR what was the physical like when you got to PGT. Thanks for any info

Very easy. Just blood pressure, height, weight, drug test, and squat under a trailer, and carry a tarp like 40 ft and lift onto a box.nothing to worry about at all.
