Yeah, he is on his second week. He should get done this week or next and be on the road.

Well, I hate that I suggested PGT to my husband. The recruiter wasn't honest and PGT hasn't been honest. First, the recruiter said that he would be out 1 week with a local guy then 1 week OTR. Well during that week OTR they "changed" their policy and he had to be out another week. Ok, that sucked but whatever. Well come last Thursday they told him they would get him in by Tuesday to test out. So he went home with his trainer and stayed the whole 3 day weekend with his trainer. So this morning his trainer gets a load to Kentucky, not PA like they said. He calls them and now they are saying he needs more tarping training because his trainer has a covered wagon. Why would they put him 2 weeks with a guy with a covered wagon. Most importantly why lie and say they are getting him in when they didnt plan on it. I get that S&£% happens and you cant control everything especially in Trucking, but be honest and upfront. I scheduled to have surgery this coming Saturday because he was told he was coming home. So I have to put it off for no telling when. We dont believe anything they say. Atleast some of the other companies are upfront about how long training is.

Thank You! No company is perfect but they really need to organize their new hire procedures better. I know Im just a wife but this effects me and our kids and its frustrating!

He may have issues to work on or he may not be picking it up as quickly as they estimated. You can't just say ok here is your truck go ahead because you want bim home. He may be good but the trainer or training dept may feel he needs a little more work. If he goes out an something happens it will come back on them. They can't predict everything that happens and they try to do their best to give you a good idea. I know my brother got his truck in the ammount of time they told him. This is trucking and you will have many more difficult things to get through in his career. Having good support at home is very important. You can't be out on the road worrying about what's going on at home every min. Maybe a local job would be better.

Well first off he didn't have "issues" all his trainers signed off on him and said he wouldn't have problems. Secondly, I stated no company is perfect and s÷×$# happens! I am VERY supportive and my husband has driven over the road before so this isnt new. In this case it was a miscommunication and PGT rectified the situation quickly! So thanks for the "advice" but he doesn't need a local job!

For those who reached out on P.M.(couldn't respond back, not enough post) my surgery went well, still in pain but I'm good. My husband made it home in time with his truck and first load! Thanks for your support!

Anytime...I did put my number in the pm I sent to you. Pass it on to your husband and tell him if he has questions or concerns to call me!!!! As drivers out here if we didn't have each other we wouldn't have anyone....us drivers need to support and help each other.

Well then, it has been about a year and seems like a good time for a quick update. I was moved to the specialized division about 6 months ago after begging and pleading to get put on there. I haul over dimensional and over weight. It is a lot more money and a lot less physical work. A lot more rules to follow, but the checks are amazing. I stay out 6-8 weeks at a time now because we dont have much specialized freight in nc and it is difficult to permit a l9ad to bring me to where I live. Good news is with all my new money I bought a second house in chicago and when I move my family up I will be home almost weekly. Well that is all for now.
