Yes. I am still here. Still running in the specialized division. I live in the Chicago area now and am enjoying a lot more home time. I am home almost every weekend and depending on the loads I spend a lot of time at the house during the week as well. The money is still very good and freight is steady. I try to take local loads a lot more when they are available, because my 2 kids are old enough (2 and 3) that they are starting to ask why I am leaving and where I am and crying when I leave. I hate being away from them and gladly take slightly less pay to be home with them at the end of the day.
If you have any specific questions about I will be glad to address them. I have kinda neglected the thread lately I guess. I just don't know what people want to know.

Good to know you are still at it. Thanks for the update.

I am glad your family was able to join you in Chicago. Time at home is precious.

I have many specific questions, but maybe won't bombard you. I have spoken with a recruiter once and was advised not to apply till further into school. I will likely be talking with him more then.

Here is one for now: I live in Lansing, MI. I am out of trainee highering area for several other flatbed companies since I am north of I-94. Yet, PGT recruiter said they have a lot of freight through here. I am assuming steel. I am trying to get an idea of what it would be like here. There is another much smaller steel hauler out of Grand Rapids that runs only Great Lakes. Looking for anything to compare. Thanks.

Sorry I missed all these qusetions. I was not getting notifications.judging by the date I'm sure a lot of you ate already gainfully enclosed and have made your decisions where to go without my advice. I have talked to a lot of new hires and they say the recruiters are very honest at pgt. So if they say home every weekend they mean it, not to say that you will not get stuck out once and a while (it's trucking), but dispatchers will do what they can to get you there every week. It is a good company for me and they do have things that I don't like, but I guess every company does.
