I am not sure what all they do, we have a small place here in town that opened up. Not sure if they fix things or what. They seem to have them in a lot of towns.

    nghthwk Thanks this.

They are basically like an industrial hardware store. Companies with maintenance depts have contracts with them and they show up like once a week and restock normal stuff like nuts, bolts, screws, plumbing fixtures etc... Can also go there and get an oddball thing you might need or order specialty stuff. Kind of like a Grainger

Yep, Bayle is correct. They are like a grainger pretty much, they have small stores all over the place, thousands of locations in the US. I'm currently an inside rep (I really wanna to start trucking soon!) they purchase electric motors & gearboxes from my company now & then.

    NavigatorWife and nghthwk Thank this.

I have a friend that drives for them here in Atlanta. He says, its mostly all night driving. They want their deliveries when the stores are closed. Some stores have a dock and a forklift. Some have a dock and you have to use a pallet-jack. Others, you will use a liftgate and a pallet-jack. And some of the pallets are very heavy. And there are alos some items that are floor loaded. But not much. They don't pay very well either. At least not in Atlanta. They may also ask you to run teams on some trips. They've been hiring here for a while. I told my buddy, no thanks.

yeah, in seattle and else where they'll run ads repeatedly different weeks for the same job. you ever notice many of these same players are the ones that refuse to disclose actual earnings until you have the whole crapload of paperwork submitted, then this or that manager will give the hype talk on company and then try to force feed yah the tripe on wages. you might see their ads are the usual we are the "one", bully crap.

Big in the Pittsburgh area, I'll be sincere when saying this. Never met a driver or purchased any of the tools.
The automotive scene in Pittsburgh is small and know a lot of shop owners. Never once heard of them praise Fastenal or utter a word.

I drove for them a few years ago. All overnight for the branch deliveries. They also do linehaul. Benefits were good......pay not so much, especially because of the kind of work. They were paying $2000 a month salary plus $.07 per mile off the hub and $4 per stop. I made between $700 and $800 a week before taxes but it really wasn't worth it to me. Some of the branches have loading docks and some don't. So you either wrestle it with a pallet jack to the liftgate or take it off with a forklift. I only stayed about three months.
