:biggrin_25510: Is it just me, or do All recruiters have to be lying ignorant lazy pieces of crap?OK not all, but a LOT of them.
They will tell you that you are qualified for pre hire when they have not even checked with anyone,Jarrod with Link America.I named him, just because he was the latest liar. I have a little over a year experience with a local helicopter business and have recently been cut way down to part time. Can't make ends meet without a full time ride.I had two dui's way back in the ancient past over 17 years ago and over 21 years ago in personal vehicles.I do not drink any longer sober for Eleven years on Friday the 18th:biggrin_255:.I always tell potential employers this right up front,Jarrod says ,oh yeah that is NO problem being so long ago.He could have at least checked with someone, instead of wasting my time.He sets up orientation on a Monday has me sign the papers, get prepared to go to work, then calls the Friday afternoon before I am supposed to leave and says, oh the safety officer says no way because of your past dui's that you can be hired.WE TALKED about this Up front, right off the bat. Thanks for nothing! If he would have done his JOB,checked with someone, and told me the truth to start with, I would not have prepared to go to work and could have been talking with someone else who was not so FULL of $*it.

Trucking recruiters are the equivalent of used car salesmen. They tell you what you want to hear to rope you in.

I had been in the industry almost ten years before I had to ever deal with a recruiter if they are talking crap and embelishing I tend to hang up and look else were . The problem is when your a rookie it may not be as apparent its a large reason why turnover is so high with new drivers .

If they need to even employ recruiters they are not worth working for.

recruiters are doing the job they are told to do. in some cases that means put the bodies in the seats, find em any way you can. its understandable to blame the recruiter that exaggerates, or even lies...but i think the anger is misplaced. if they told you you were ok, then later it came down to a safety guy giving the kabosh (sp?), then id say you dodged a bullet not getting on with a less than reputable company. doesnt make it much easier to take, im sure.

its like blaming the collection agent for being a jerk, or blaming the telemarketer for being annoying. if thats what they are being paid to do, doesnt the blame belong higher up?
