I ran both 48 state and Canada in addition to their Texas Regional fleet for a couple of years. Lot's of Canada runs for OTR side. 2000-2200 miles a week. Lot's of runs down to Laredo w/long weekends sitting down there waiting to hook a load heading north. Kinda average company. No loading/unloading. Ops side of things are highly computer dependent to accomodate the number of drivers and loads, so trying to get feedback/assistance sometimes takes awhile. E-Logs. Pay was on the low side. Dispatchs made by computer matching, so not alot of human interaction if you want to run more miles. Big corporate company, so you may feel like just a number at times. Equipment was ok. Repairs and maintenance pretty good. I liked their week off every 30,000 mile program in addition to the regular 1 day off for each 7 days out. They were good about getting me home ontime for requested days off. Didn't have an apu at the time, and constantly bugged about idle time. Big driver turnover for the younger hard charging types. But older drivers, especially husband and wives, and retirees seem to stick around for the long term. Texas regional was pretty good. More miles, quick reloads. But the trips were shorter. Didn't like the dropping loaded trailers on one side of Houston, BT to the other side to get an MT, the DH right back to the other side again to reload and not getting paid the miles for it. Happened quite a bit to me. Computer wont pay miles for anything in the same city. Lot's of drop and hook on both OTR and regional though. Like any company out there, you have to pick the one that fits what your looking for. Overall, I would say it's just an average company. Very easy driving job at the lower pay scale. Left them a couple years ago, so things might be a little different now.

That sounds about right. the turn over rate is extremely high for celadon. If i remember right. the miles are more in the canada to laredo loads. hit to those who can't go to canada. ur miles won't be as good. so to make up the difference you best get the hazmat on your cdl. and don't say no to loads. so if you want to find out if you can go to canada. you can sign up for the goes program via the internet. it costs $50. and it a non refundable fee. Celadon will have you fill out the passport application during orientation. so it's better to find out a head of time if you can enter canada with a problem.
