Now that actually makes since. I was debating if I would call them or not and now I know I will. I don't know how many of you have been to prison but I have. Got out in Feb 2013. I don;t give a #### what I have to do but i will do what it takes to get myself and family back to a happy life. My charge was Conspiracy to distribute Marijuana and now I am under the Ga first offender program and catching pure hell getting a job. In alot of states my crime is not considered a crime but I knew what I was doing was illegal and now must pay for my actions. Thank god for companies like Carolina Cargo who will atleast let a convict have a ray of hope at a better future.

Well your moving in the rite direction, just keep on moving. Drug felonies are hard to overcome when it comes to trucking, but stick with a company a few year's and keep your nose clean and it will get easier as you progress to better gig's. You should also know there is an article here that trucker's report put out a few month's ago about discrimenation toward's felon's, not sure if it was made into law but they were considering it, so you may get lucky, if you didnt commit the felony at work, around work, or on company time etc. they cannot bar you from employment because of it

I've been to prison (7years and came home feb of 2011) and also started at Carolina cargo. I speak from experience when I say it did help me with learning the trade. Disregard others' negative comments and keep moving forward. I wasn't with Carolina Cargo long (about2 months) but since I had "experience" I was able to move up from making 10 cents per mile there to making 12.5% of each load with Martin enterprises of the Carolina's. I've got newborn twins and a wife I haven't seen in almost two months but I'm making an average of800 to 1200 a week now. Getting ahead and providing financially for my family is my priority. I'm gaining valuable experience to try and get something local so I can be home daily. IT IS REALLY HARD WORK climbing outta a hole we created for ourselves but keep looking forward and more importantly MOVING forward. It gets easier and better I promise.hope I helped.

Didn't know US Foods would give a convicted felon a chance... May have to check in to them myself. One of their biggest distributing warehouses is my hometown

It's all b.s. If there not hauling to Canada, which isnt a good excuse because they can just not give you canadian runs, military load's etc there's no reason for it. I bet any amount of money if you started a trucking company and only hired felon's the government would have you shut down and fined out the ### for practicing discrimination, why it doesnt work out both way's is beyond me
