They seem to attract young drivers every time I see one of their trucks. They have a nice terminal. They started out as a desirable company but now they are like all the rest trying to maximize profits.

My last hooter shot was from a rider in a Big G truck. I just got off the interstate 20 miles from home. Big G hollered at me asking for directions. He then told me to slow down he had something to show me. He then pulled up beside me. There was two drivers and this Amazon woman who flashed me. I about wrecked. Next thing you know 20 drivers were yelling on the CB asking Big G what his 20 was, lol.

He then told me to slow down again and this time I got the whole 9 yards and then some. :biggrin_2556: That was enough to wake up any driver. Needless to say I escorted him right where he needed to go.

Those two gave team driving a whole new meaning! :)

I think I read someplace that they are an employee owned company. Was thinking about looking into them more myself so your sound input is appreciated.

They are 100% employee owned however, they pay .10cpm per diem. Not sure if that's good or bad.

    Good:

    -Nice people
    - 1.5 day orientation.
    - Decent equipment.
    - Work hard at convincing you that you do, in fact, own the company. Do you actually? If I did, I'd be bringing home more than 500-600 per week. Other companies that don't feed me that sort of crap pay more.
    - Fuel anywhere at any time as long as it's Flying J/Pilot.

    Bad:

-Pay is crap (.33 for 2 years exp)
    -Miles, I avg about 1600-1900
-Not paid for all miles. Too much free work.
-They don't pay for storage during hometime and they do not tell you this during orientation. Where I live, I would have had to pay to have the trailer stored because there would have been nowhere else to put it, unless I were to drive 50 miles OOR to drop it at their dropyard and take the truck back home, which is what I did. I'm not paying to store YOUR equipment. Not at .33 CPM, nope.

    - Their customers have zero regard for our time. I found myself sitting for 4+ hours constantly. A few of their customers even told me that they are actually allotted 4 hours by Big G to load/unload. A few times I was compensated, but when it kept happening I guess they got tired of it. So am I.

Verdict: I left because averaging 1800 miles under .33 CPM wasn't cutting the mustard. Couple that with several equipment issues, some bad decisions by the office staff that cost me money a few times and unpredictable hometime (as in, will I get home Friday or Saturday morning? Will I have to leave on Sunday at 6pm to make the 5am drop in Florida tomorrow morning?). Okay company but I'm sorry, they simply do not pay enough for the amount of work required from drivers. I worked hard to keep my license clean and to build up my experience. I can do better than .33 cpm
