What ^^he^^ said.
There are many good companies, which one would be a good fit for you depends on your specific situation. You're most probably not going to be able to get good hometime and good money at the same time, so you need to decide what's a good balance for you.
If you tell us more about your priorities you might be able to get some good recommendations. By all means, read that thread first. -
NFI has a big place there, local and OTR, pay seems decent by FLORIDA standards, believe me you'll understand what that means soon enough if not already. Food companies abound and if you like working nights try to get on board with anyone that hauls into Disney, almost all of their stuff goes at night, most seem to pay pretty good wages. All the majors have some sort of presence there too. Good luck!!!

If you want to run OTR, check out Time Definite. They have a terminal about 40 miles from Orlando on 301 just south of Wildwood. I never worked for them, but I know a couple of their drivers, and they're happy there. Here is a link for them; http://timedefinite.com/drivers/

NFI local seems to be a bait and switch, or maybe they fill it with driver referrals. They advertise it all the time but every time I called for my husband it wasn't available anymore and all they had was OTR.
I remember he applied to US Logistics out of New Jersey. They said from Orlando they could bring him home every three weeks. I don't remember the pay exactly but remember it sounded reasonable. No solos, only teams from Orlando. Foodservice pays very good and you're home everyday, but you work mostly nights and are home long enough only to eat and sleep.
It depends a lot on what hometime you want, how much money you need, and how much experience you have.Last edited: Nov 20, 2013
