Partner, There are a bunch of folks in here from all over the WORLD not just the country, There are small companies all over the place, I would suggest that you ask them if they have a driver you can call, They should have at least one or two drivers that are happy, I have asked about several companies in here and have not gotten any response, I think it is because there are so many people in here from all over the place and if the company you are looking for is so small then there are not many that have heard of them. I would be concerned as to why they are always hiring drivers, But if it is something you want to try get on the horse and ride ad see what happens.

I am from waynesboro va. One of my best friends is asst shop foreman at mtn milk. He makes really good money. The drivers on the other hand are working for peanuts. $75 to $100 to run to nc from hburg. Also no baffles in tanks and you will be over 90,000 lbs most if the time

thanks guys I have heard the pay isnt that great but I was looking to get my tank and try it out. I have hauled chicken feed so the top heavy dont really bother me. I liked hauling the feed and some of the growers were super nice. That paid by the load @ a $1.00 a ton and 18.9 cent a mile. we were only aloud to haul 5 loads most of the time so it averaged out to about 140.00 a day. good part was home in my bed every night. Bad part was my start time was at noon every day so my day was shot from the start. I also was looking at Loudon milk in hburg. i just dont know what i want to do still gathern info.

They got an account in the Texas Panhandle a couple of years ago. Extremely low pay, terrible equipment, and ran drivers to death. They didn't keep the account but a few months. I talked to a guy that was doing the hiring and he told me that $50k a year for a truck driver was unreasonable because his wife had a masters degree and 10 years of college and she didn't make that much. I told him he should have sent her to a 6 week truck driving school instead and he would have been better off.
