Should i join crst? Please help me out guys/gals..

    Hello! My first post here but i have been reading thru this forum since august and the stories i have read even though some of them have been bad experiences, i figured every job has there bad moments, i am a FDNY EMT in New York City, 21yrs old, single, no parents, no family, no kids..i live check to check and its a bit hard living with a 32,000$ salary over here, i have over a year looking to obtain my CDL A but i do not have the funds to obtain it, and is easier for someone to get it for free while there unemployed the while they work (dont understand that)..so ive been looking for company sponsored training with 8month-1yr obligigations, alot of companies require me to be 22yrs old or to live around there freight lanes, millis transfer said no, and im still waiting on knight, however CRST has kept in contant contact with me, ive read the forums here about them and 90% is negative however some people say that if you stick it out for the 8 month obiligation it would be worth it, now my concern is, what does stick it out actually mean in the trucking world? And also i know this is what i want to do, but i also dont want to leave this secure job ive had since i was 19 and then go over there for training and then come to figure that they couldnt prove my job history, since i have been thru different EMS companies before settling with fdny..this is a life changer for me and i would like some help looking for a company sponsored school and or if its worth it to join crst and tough it out for the 8 month...thanks in advance and stay warm if your here in the northeast!

    Thank you very much for the reassurance, i really hope they do because i am really eager to do this it just sucks that i dont have the funds to pay for cdl class over here..

    Sometimes you just do what you have to do, to get in the game.
    Have you tried :
    Swift
    Roehl
    Central Refrigerated
    Prime Inc.

    Why not move to a warmer climate since you don't have any anchors holding you down.
    Prime is really good if you're financially strapped.

    If you think living on 32 k is hard you are gonna be in for big surprise....How does 15 to 20 sound ? And you will be lucky to make that..What does sticking it out mean ? It means living in truck with some stranger..getting on each other nerves..Working lonnnggg hours for little pay..being expected to do lots of driving related things for NO pay..sitting in truckstop,terminals,shops,............shippers & recievers..all tired,hunger,dirty & lonely..being harrased by DOT,saftey & dispatch....stuck broke down in the snow with no food,cold and sreaming at the voices in your head.you will have many nights tossing and turning trying to sleep but you cant beacuse you keep asking yourself ,where did I go wrong in my life to end up here...then right when you fall asleep you will be awaken and expected to drive down that dark lonely highway....

    The Lucky Trucker posted the exp he had at CRST.It's quite long but worth reading.It's titled (My experience with CRST).Think you should read it.Stick it out in the trucking world means fulfill your contract,no matter how angry you get stay a good solid yr.Also means deal with it and suck it up.You'll get very little sympathy from CRST or any company no matter what your issues are.You'll hear those words from your dm,stick it out.They could care less what problems you are having with your co driver and don't have the time or patience to even try and understand.So you see all the negative things about CRST why are you considering them?So what if your recruiter has been keeping in contact with you,is that suppose to seal the deal that you wanna attend their schooling?I wouldn't be so quick to judge they are the one just because crst has been calling or emailing you.To find a good company sponsored training should be based on what the drivers say not by what a lieing recruiter says.They'll say everything you wanna hear and not the truth.
