Called and talked to them a year or so ago. Seemed like he wanted only choirboys for drivers but who knows maybe they're that select few special companies out here!?

There not a bad company though they are only interested in safe and smart drivers.

That sounds good but are you implying I'm unsafe and dumb?

I'm not sure how you would get me implying something out of simply stating a fact I didn't direct anything in your direction yes they want choirboys for drivers. people that are safe drivers people that know and follow the law to the letter that keep there trucks clean things of that nature. sorry I offended you.

I have 28 years of driving under my belt along with a spotless record they turned me down after a long conversation with Mark the safety guy. Since May of 2011 I have worked for 2 companies. The first is NAES this was a non-driving job at a solar to steam plant. In March of 2012 we had layoffs and pay cuts, my pay was cut 30% down to 16.00hr with a 65 mile commute one way it did not make sense. At this time I went to work for Indian River Transport until October of 2012 when NAES called me back with an offer to return to my old position with a raise to 23.62hr. I am now making 27.16hr but the job is taking a toll on my body. I have had 2 back surgeries and arthritis in both knees and surgery on my right knee tomorrow. I have made the decision to return to trucking. His reason to deny was because I bounced around the past few years and that he didn't feel I would want to be gone for 3 weeks at a time.
If he called tomorrow I would consider working for them, they have a good safety score, and now a days that's important.

I think they're a good company but they're not all that!

Like I said very Safety focused and though I'm not privy to his thought process when dealing with you Gazoo I know he is always a bit critical due to the fact that it gets expensive to get a new prospect to the shop plus the Hotel, Food, Drug tests & background checks then they pay through orientation and after all that its always a downer when we put someone in a truck and they decide that its not for them and leave in the first few months.
