Do you know anything about start pay, hometime, regional route, Swift (Phoenix, AZ)?

The questions are:
* How much does a new driver makes with swift? How many cents per mile (cpm)? How much per week and/or per month?
* When you start with swift, do you get to chose whether to drive a regional route or drive over the road (OTR)? Do you get to pick or not?
* I am interested in a regional route (if I can get it), how does a regional route look like with swift (where do you drive to? Example, usually from Phoenix to L.A. to San Diego to Vegas and back to Pheonix)?
* Home time; when do you usually get home? I have a family, a wife and a son, and I really don't want to be on the road all the time and never spend time with them.
* What other info can you give me?

I will really appreciate any info and answers to my questions.
By the way, I read all of those posts from all of those threads. I am also still researching for info regarding other companies around my area (Phoenix, AZ).

Search this site for Swift.

Stay away from them is the main theme you will see.

Knight is also a Phoenix company. Much better choice than Swift.

I have done my research on this site, other sites and in person. I read all the threads and posts regarding Swift in this site, but I still would like to know if anyone knows the answers to those questions.

Yeah, while looking around for companies from here (Phoenix), I came across Knight. I heard mostly (85%) good things about them from drivers and websites, but the problem is that they do not offer training and they want drivers with at least 4 months of experience.

My problem is that I cannot afford school/training to get my CDL and not having a job right now. I need a job asap and start making some money, at least a little bit of. So, I might have to go into the "wolve's cave" and give a try! I got a family; wife and a son to feed and pay for the "roof."

Thanks for your replies guys, I appreciate it.
If anyone has the answers to my questions and a little more info to offer, I am all ears.

As big as Phoenix is there has gotta be some other companies that will train. Swift is a good way to ruin your drive to drive and run off a possible long term good driver.

Look in the phone book for truck driving schools. Call them and ask who from your area hires trainees. You may run across a local job that will train.

Swift pay

Swift starts you # .26 per mile for the 1st 3 mos and by the end of 1 year you will be making .33. You can do regional and get home every 2 weeks. I see alot of complaints on here from people but the been good to me so far. I avg 2500-3000 miles a week and home alot.

Thanks a lot for your reply.
Do you mind telling me more about your experience with Swift:
* How long you been working for the company?
* Do you work regional, OTR, other?
* After how may days on the road you get to go home? For how long do you get to stay home?
* You mentioned that if do regional, I get home every 2 weeks; is there any other way that I can get home at least a day per week?
* What else should I know?

Yeah, there are many companies here in Phoenix, but I guess I have to continue searching for one that offers training. By the way, thanks for the tip, it's a really good idea.
