Hi all I have been registered here for awhile now but never posted anything before. I have enjoyed using the forums here for all kinds of things over the last couple of years, have found lots of useful info.

Now, though, I could use some assistance or suggestions. I have about four years OTR exp. but have been out of work for the last six months or so. I suffered a torn bicep in a work related injury and had to have surgery to repair it. Immediately after surgery I had a mild heart attack and had a stint put in. I do not wish to go back OTR because it really sucks to get hurt when you are over 2000 miles from home. I am looking for suggestions for companies with southeast regional runs, as I live near Atlanta, GA. I would prefer something with mostly no touch freight for now, so I don't give myself another heart attack, lol. I am not too worried about the pay right now, just would like to find something where I can be home most weekends, and for now at least I don't want to have to load or unload trucks.

I recently passed my DOT physical, though I know I will probably be required to take another one if I get hired. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, wasn't quite sure where to put it.

    Thanks

Ozark Motor Lines is 100% no-touch freight, no NYC, no Canada.
    Trucks have APU's.

You could try Millis Transfer...they have a terminal in Cartersville, GA and run a good bit of regional freight down there,

Averitt Express would be a good one. They have 2 Atlanta terminals, one off 85 north of Atlanta and one on fulton industrial blvd on the west side. Youre home most every weekend, great benefits, good equipment and pays not that bad though their average miles is 1800-2000 miles per week. They also have local but I think you have to work your way into it and dedicated but most of that requires some driver unload.

Crete has terminal in Marietta. Knight off west side. Probably most large carriers. Both Davis companies. Trucks Inc out of Jackson, GA. Pemberton. You have a lot of options.
