I'm guessing you are out of the birmingham terminal? Do you have a pretty consistent route? Are you home every night?

Yes I'm out of Birmingham and I do run a consistent route but I leave out on Sunday night and back home either Thursday or Friday morning but most of their hauls are out and back in. You kinda have to pay your dues and put you time in to be able to work into a dedicated type haul. I've been leased for 20 yrs so I can tell you from experience. Most aren't patient enough to put in their time to reach this point. The first 3 yrs I was there I hauled everything they threw at me some good some bad but in general they are the best company I have ever been lease to.

Does the "home every night" driver run terminal-to-terminal? Is it 6 days a week?

No real terminal to terminal hauling. What you are talking about is the inter-modal division where you either run out of one of the rail heads or sea ports to a customer and back home. Depends on where you live. 5-6 days a week how ever you want to run as long as your running legal. We're on Qualcom and there is no way to fudge on your logs and violators are warned then terminated if it persist.

I would be closest to the Huntsville terminal. Any idea about the routes out of there?

    Hi,
Was anyone recenty hired by Comtrak? How long does it take them screen your application for a background? How long it takes them to call you for an interview?

    Thank you in advance.

If it's like it used to be, it was around 30-45 days. They did the most thorough investigation I had ever seen. They used to brag about how deep they went. That may have changed within the last 10 years though.
