Only have six months otr experience. Daughter going to college in fall of 2015 and u need to make more money. What company the best choice for $$ in flatbed?

$840 a week with two days off sounds fairly decent for flatbed with 6 months xp.
Might make more pulling a tanker, but be ready for lots of overtime and 14 hour days.SHC Thanks this. -
If that's take home, then your in the ballpark, if that's pre tax then look at Maverick, PGT, McKelroy or Jordan.....I about $900 to $1000 take home(some weeks $800 others $1,100), plus I have benefits.......

I would welcome 14 hour days. That'd shorten mine by at least two hours per. The $840 is rare and means six day week. We're on paper logs and always pressured to not log waiting times n etc. I drive 2000 Freight shaker that's wore out and in horrible shape on inside. Other day I was told they got me a new truck...it's three years older, all banged up, and broke down already. Been in shoptwo weeks. Bbroke down after bought it on trip to our yard. The air ain't right where I am.

I think a lot times you can make more money at a small company vs a big company. Are they paying u by the mile or percentage ? Sounds low to me

Central Oregon Truck Company 800-394-0222
I've talked with a few of these COTC drivers and they do better than average and have excellent equipment and the owners are truckers.
You should be able to earn $200 - $300/ day pulling flat. Then again, a lot of Southern based company owners think they shouldn't have to pay more than 10% of what you bring in gross revenue to the company. They like slaves.already gone and 281ric Thank this. -
I don't think I would have a problem driving older trucks ( I drive one myself), so long as they are safe and have a/c , heat and are in good working conditions. However I don't think youre getting paid what you should get and sounds like youre getting taken advantage of.
I would hit up guys at trucks stops, check craiglist and maybe even someone from the forum can help you out.
I wish you luck. I hate that kick em while hes down mentality.gokiddogo Thanks this.
